About MetropropMetroprop (Pty) Ltd has been active in the administration and related functions of all types of properties for over 70 (seventy) years. We currently administer in excess of 200 (two hundred) properties varying from shopping complexes, office blocks, industrial premises and blocks of flats to individual flats and houses.We have in addition to the Management Staff a team of lease brokers who actively participate in the management function by assisting in securing tenants for vacant areas in the portfolio properties. Due to the complexity and variety of functions necessary for the successful administration of properties, our company installed an in-house main frame computer programmed with an advanced integrated program. A listing of the few functions and reports available are also attached hereto. Company HistoryDuring the late 1930' Mr Tjaart van der Walt formed a property management company, Hochstetter & Co. Pty (Ltd). This company was sold in November 1970 to L Taylor (Pty) Ltd who had acquired the total management portfolio of Bester Holdings the previous year.Another company, Taylor & Geerling who, in the early 1950' started with a management portfolio on behalf of some of their clients. This portfolio grew and in 1959 the company Rentagent (Pty) Ltd was formed. In 1972 L Taylor (Pty) Ltd acquired Rentagent (Pty) Ltd, combining the portfolios under the name of Rentagent (Pty) Ltd. With the death of Mr Lachlan (Lochie) Taylor in 1985, Rentagent (Pty) Ltd was bought by a construction group and in 1988 the company was renamed Metroprop. This covers a span of 70 years in the Pretoria property market. Many of our clients have been with us for 30 years and more. One of our oldest clients, Mr de Klerk, has entrusted his property with us for 60 years, coming through the bloodline Hochstetter & Co, he has placed on record in the 60 year association he has lost a total of R1.67 on his portfolio. The Managing DirectorManaging Director, Mr Hennie Herselman controls the financial and all other aspects of the Company, and has been in property since 1980. |
